ACCEPTANCE ISN'T WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE. In ACT, we learn how to drop the struggle against thoughts and feelings that get in our way.  "Acceptance" in ACT isn't "being ok" with challenging or painful thoughts & emotions. It is about being able to step back from our unhelpful internal dialogues, emotions, memories, and so on.
